The trim ring has this step that hits the rim edge and stops it from going on. So hitting more will just damage the ring

NOS Chrysler part numbers do not. NANKET - Are you sure that the problem? I think I'm well past that on the step in the rim. Is there a simple Mod to get them to seat? Maybe cut a relief slot?
