The engine to fenderwell clearances will depend on which heads, valve covers and where he positions the motor and which K member he uses.
I had a 1971 Challenger 318 car converted to a World block 572 C.I. Hemi with Stage V heads and valve covers along with a Reilly Alterkation K member and front suspension conversion. I supply the motor and entire exhaust system with all the front mounted serpentine belt drive parts mounted so Forest Fincher could get the motor to set in the engine compartment with no issues, he did it well up bow
We bought the headers and complete exhaust system from TTI, they fit well and are very nice on the quality, not cheap though shruggy

You might warn your buddy a blown hemi in a E body is trouble waiting to hurt him, especially if has never had a half fast car (9 seconds or faster)with a lot of power work twocents
