Thanks AAR#2 for the link. Lots of good information. 383S_Fastback, I apologize for straying off topic on this thread. You asked for help on the 70 model year. Since there are similarities with the 71, I think it may be worthwhile to also see the differences. And for my own selfish reason, I would like to know the type of screw that was originally installed on the two top middle positions (C) for the 71 model. Was it the same as the 70?

(C) This is the J-clip that was installed on the revised 71 version of the valance support bracket. It takes the place of the welded nut used on the 70 bracket. Unlike the sheet metal type U-clip used in the top corners (A), it accepts a machine screw....like the welded nut on the 70. If anyone has an image of the pan head phillips machine screw that was "sometimes" used with the welded nut on the 70 bracket, would you please post a picture.

And lastly, I have include a shot of the rear of my unrestored GK6 Barracuda with the locations of the fasteners.
