My old 383 Dart.

Stock 383 block and pistons and crank and rods that I rebuilt. I knurled the pistons and actually honed the cylinders a bit oversize to be true round since I used the stock bore pistons. File fit the pistons for .0015 to .002 clearance and used .005 over rings that came out at .022 eng gap.

452 heads I did some mild bowl blend porting on and cut them a bit for a true 9.5 comp. MP .484 hyd cam on a 104 ICL.

Stock rockers and I used some .015 shims to get the lifters centered so they did not push down to far with the heads milled.

RPM intake and a 750 Holley DP.

CPPA 2" headers and 3" exh with Ultra-Flow mufflers

Stock dist I recurved with the MP orange ECU

stock 727 with TA reverse manual V/B and Turbo Action tight 3000 10" converter.

8-3/4 rear with 3.91's and a McCreary G/60-15 tire.

Car weighed about 3640 lbs with driver.

Best et was 12.31 @ 110. Would always run 12.50's at 108 or better on normal summer days.

It was a nice running street car for the mild 383. Ron
