Initially the GTS will be built with mostly stock stuff as I can find it. I have a '73 340 block that was all standard bore except for #7 that has a wrist pin scratch in it. So as long as it can hone out alright in 1-6 and 8, I'll sleeve 7 and use the factory rods/10.5:1 pistons I have in it. I have a set of bare X-heads, I picked up some 2.02/1.60 valves for a song, and I got a stock '69 intake for cheap as well. I have a bellhousing(wrong year, it's '72 and up), transmission, driveshaft, found a deal on a new, unused clutch, traded into a resurfaced 130 tooth flywheel, and got a bunch of parts off of Jim.
I have a '69 340 block, but it is .060 over and may end up getting a 4" stroke crank and some other choice parts. But for right now, I'm putting it together as cheap and fast as I can. I'll make it better looking and quicker later.
