The "what went wrong with flat tappet cam" In the race thread just drives home the risk of flat tappet/ poor quality valve train in 2020. With a mopar the switch to roller is very expensive - we must pay high price up front for the conversion to avoid even higher price potential engine damage by circulating debris thru our new engine. Im all in. Conversion is around $1300. Im talking mild HYD roller like 235 ish DUR @ .050" So question- could healthy stamped steel rockers be used with a HYD roller with 235ish Dur @.050? I realize push rods would need to be custom made after measuring. The least expensive adjustable rocker arms I would trust (no ebay roller R arms for $100) are the iron adjustables that Mancini sells. They resemble the Cranes and 273 arms from the past and are priced under $275.

Keep old mopars alive.
