My up north house is right off the run way at Wurtsmith in Oscoda MI.. I use to listen to them every
morning when they would warm the engines then take off... I own a house thats on the approach for
their landings.. its surprising how far a wing sags down when full to empty.. I heard from a buddy
they would sag 11'... you sure could tell by the sound when they left at 110% power at full pay load...
the run way is still 2 miles long... no more B-52s.. they moved them out.. Kaletta flys 747s out
of there now
EDIT
The B-52 uses a set of prop rods on the wings to take off when the tanks are full.. they drop
off on lift off and are picked up
wave
