As mentioned, probably has no idea how to order online, and sounds like it's possible dementia may be at work. This is a symptom, and I'm not making excuses for this behavior, but some people with dementia or Alzheimers will react in this way.
Order by phone? I mean, guy was older, but not pre-Alexander Graham Bell old.
