Its a roller bearing back where the leaf spring attaches at the rear... as to on the street.. the guys I put them
on for.. none had any issues.. it can make it handle a slight bit better due to less movement(side to side)

I drive mine on the street a lot, They sell a thick hard nylon block to replace the noisy bearings, custom built 4X4 trucks use sliders a lot !!! it allows the spring to work much better.
