I have a Milodon braided steel dipstick in my hemi. It isn't locking, but if it gets blown out (it's tight), then it won't be the only thing that blows out and leaks oil, lol.

Never understood not running a dipstick, even on a race engine. Use a decent dipstick and you won't have any sealing issue. I like seeing exactly where the oil level is and it's an easy/quick way to check for water/oil contamination. I've heard the old saying "if you need to check it, you need to change it" a lot. I'm not changing it every time I think there may be an issue. There's a lot of unnecessary oil changing.
