You will see more and more bands touring until late in life, due to the death of records/CDs/tapes and the rise of internet streaming.

In the old days bands made most of their money on record sales--the tour was just there to hype people up to buy the record.

Now bands don't make squat on sales--streaming services pay almost nothing, and a lot of music is still stolen or listened to for free. So they have to make their money selling tickets on the road. Also explains why concert ticket prices have gotten so insane.

Some old acts like to tour, but others only do it because they have to pay the bills.
