Rolling Stones coming, new tour !!!. - 02/07/20 01:31 AM

Heard today on the radio. Think they said tickets on sale Feb. 14, and tour in March. Said to be touring where they had not been in awhile,
Just last year, they played a very limited tour in the US I went and seen them, but was way in the back upper stadium.
Heard they were to play Austin, Tx. this time, so that will probably be outdoors, and fun.
Not sure will go as I have heard the Austin venue can get really crowded and out of control.

Now, this may really be the " last time " to see them. If they play Houston, may go again, but outdoors would be fantastic.
Hope some of you can go. I first seen them in 1973, and have seen them many times.

I'm sure they will roll out on stage with walkers and tennis balls on the back.........should have retired a couple decades ago.

Do you need a nap?

The upside here, as the Stones age, so does their fan base.

Everything is relative, nobody is forced to attend their concerts.

This provide any Satisfaction?

You will see more and more bands touring until late in life, due to the death of records/CDs/tapes and the rise of internet streaming.

In the old days bands made most of their money on record sales--the tour was just there to hype people up to buy the record.

Now bands don't make squat on sales--streaming services pay almost nothing, and a lot of music is still stolen or listened to for free. So they have to make their money selling tickets on the road. Also explains why concert ticket prices have gotten so insane.

Some old acts like to tour, but others only do it because they have to pay the bills.

I agree that some bands like to go out on the road. It's fun! If I was healthy,I would love to go out and do some bar gigs or biker parties. wave

I heard about this on KSHE the other morning. I'm not the biggest Stones fan in the world, but it would probably be a good show, I've never seen them live, and there just can't be that many more chances in our future.

I just bought Sammy Hagar & The Circle / Whitesnake / Night Ranger tickets the other night, so my concert budget is a little thin right now. But I may have to stretch it for this Stones concert.

Last year I tried to see a few groups I thought I should see before they pass on, which was inspired by Tom Petty. Missed out on Leon Russell and Dr. John, but saw Rod Stewart (with Jeff Beck) and Peter Frampton last year. Had to forego UFO unfortunately, and Ian Hunter cancelled his Mott the Hoople tour due to a health issue.

Seen the Stones, will always seen the Stones, but had to resell my tix last year due to money. Prob won't be able to see them this year because I bought my wife Bublé tix. frown

Lots of old folks in attendance for sure, but they can't fill the stadiums with just old fans as many are gone or not able. I think most in attendance are 30 - 50 years old. Stones always have put on good shows. Amazing that most if not all the members from way back are still performing.
I think Mick is 77 , They do perform pretty good still, not like some old bands like the who, or Fleetwood Mac.
I doubt Mick really needs to earn any more money, should be pretty wealthy and not going to need any money in a few more years.Heard they may be releasing a new album, if so I wont listen as they produced nothing good since Exile On Main Street back in 72?
II also heard " cheap " tickets start about $ 98.00, not sure if that includes service charge. Last year I paid 68.00 + fees about 95.00 total.

Now 10 years ago, I paid 175.00 to see Lady Ga Ga, now that I wish had money back.

We saw them last year with Night Ranger, at the same venue....Pine Knob. It was a great show. I enjoyed Night Ranger more than I thought I would...they were quite good. The only disappointing part of their performance was the drummer singing Sister Christian, which I guess he wrote and originally recorded. Fun drummer, but his singing voice is fading, or at least was off that night. I figured with the addition of Whitesnake, it could only be a better show. Saw them in the early '80s as an opener for Quiet Riot....I'm dating myself. grin

Sammy, Michael, Jason and Vic were great! Vic had fallen at a previous performance, and broken his leg...ankle? I can't remember exactly, except that they had to help him on stage, and he sat most of the show. But he played through it, and quite well.

I'd recommend it.

I saw them 3-5 years ago when they came to Ohio stadium. I was surprised, Mick, to this day, is the highest energy front man I've seen at any concert. This includes performers of every age range. Mick was running all over the stage. Again, I was shocked at how much energy the man still has.

I saw the Stones in Death Valley @ Clemson University in 1989. It was the Steel Wheels tour...….best concert I've ever been to! bow

Saw them in Chicago last summer. Their first show after Mick's heart surgery, took our 25 year old kids..best family outing ever ..kids loved them. My daughter was literately crying for joy during her favorite ..Sympathy.
I needed more... so ....a friend scored 2 "pit" tickets for their next show.....20 feet from the stage... totally different set list ..... experience of a lifetime !
I grew up w/the Stones....even at 77 no other front man has the moves like Jagger, not even close.
How many other bands have the staying power of these guys ? It's a miracle they are still alive, after all those hard miles.... let alone filling 50k stadiums, keeping you standing on your feet pretty much the entire show !! Getting married ..having kids....and the Stones @ 20 feet top my list so far

Wow.....I wonder if that's better than seeing the old Stones in a pit 20 feet away?
