The big advantage of the M1s are their low height compared to the Victor/Trick Flow style intake. Figure about an inch lower at the carb mounting pad, IIRC

I had a large plenum M1 4500 with a dominator on my 493 and I couldn't close the hood with an air cleaner on it, With a Victor and a 4150 I can use a 3" drop base air filter so I believe the Victor might be lower
