I had a 90 amp Powermaster one wire alternator on mine for a long time. It worked OK, but at the track it couldn't keep up. I do have a big electric fuel pump, water pump, and big electric fan that I run a lil while w/ the engine off to cool it down.
Had the local auto electric shop build me a slightly bigger frame alternator that's supposed to be putting out 115+ amps. I know it works much better.
He told me that there was no way the Powermaster was putting out the claimed 90 amps...more like 80 when he tested it.

My thinking is if you're gonna run your cooling system b/t rounds to cool it down...either get a BIG alternator or don't bother w/ one at all and just use a charger.
