Yes, as I have spent more time with the car, I am coming to that same conclusion that it is a repaint. Air cleaner looks pretty new, so definitely a recent addition to the car. An old alternator came in a box in the trunk, possibly the original one. But I really don't care if it's not 100% original. It's a very clean, well documented driver, which is what I wanted.
