I have never personally seen a 70 model year 4-speed with the lever style side cover. The T/A & AAR were the first to use the 2.47 close ratio gearset, it was standard for all 71 and newer 23 splines.


The transmission that was given to me for the re-build was the original to the car being restored and it had an interlock cover but the wrong ratio though so it was a mystery to me because I had to dig up a 2.47 gear set. I thought the interlock was the original cover for the AAR he was working on.
