Nascar BB and Hemi's used both valve covers with separate metal tubing and separate breathers joined together. The lines were slightly uphill aiding in the oils movement with the ability of drain back. to the valve covers.

I had a customer who used a set up like that on his 1967 Nascar street clone car, it would allow a lot of condensation to get into the oil down work
