The drive shaft could be about 1" longer while still leaving 1" of travel.
However the yoke appears fine and pushing it in the additional 1" has little to no effect on the clearance. So am I chasing a ghost or is the output bushing toast??

John Kunkle (spelling) on this board posted the specs on both the yoke, and the bushing, it was pretty tight if I recall .002-.003 clearance, the problem is aftermarket bushings are bigger, aftermarket yokes are smaller so it can be hard to fix. I have had to resort to having yokes hard chromed to tighten it up. Last one I did with bushing from brewer and a neapco yoke moves a lot, way more than an untouched original. I tell guys not to change the output bushing if it is still good, I believe originals were machined in the housing.
