Can't be 100% sure, but the larger 2-stage / consumer grade unit is made by MAT holdings and re-branded. If you look at the specs, and components they are identical to Industrial Air, Sanborn, Dewalt, etc. etc.

There are *very* few compressors that use 100% American parts. Especially the types that most of us can/want to afford. The HF units are built in USA, but use an Italian pump and Century motor (Ohio company, however built in Mexico).

There are tons of 60 gallon / single stage compressors out there with <5 HP motors. Not everyone needs that much CFM for hobby stuff.

It doesn't sound like you are running a body shop and know exactly your intended use. I say go for it if you believe it is a good deal. Like others said, maintain it, and it will likely be fine for a long time.
