MCACN is not "O.E." judging, 1000 points is a great accomplishment but it's not nearly as involved as O.E. Judging. The average O.E. car is scored 3-4000 points, a MUCH higher level of factory correctness is required to achieve the gold level. That in mind, the MCACN judges are allowed to give "close" items a pass, and of course, some items will get missed altogether, it doesn't mean that the item in question is correct simply because it passed muster at a car show judging. Bottom line, powder coating can look very nice, but it is not the same as what these cars had when new. .02
