Whaaaat? The above statement is false. I have run 187 pans in b-bodies and they don't hit the drag link, ever. And a 66-70 b-body engine to K frame and suspension is the same dimensions.
Yes a 187 pan is thicker than a 402 pan. But a 66-69 hemi pan is thicker than a 402 also. They don't rub the drag link. They fit the car and dont hit anything.
I've seen the 187 pan rub on 1965 B bodies, also on the 1966 and up B bodies
Me thinks it depends on how old the motor and trans mounts are and the individual cars
