I think it was late 1972 or early 1973 and my dad and I were there for something, and in the showroom they had three 1971 Hemi Cuda's sitting there and they were all purple. I think the price on them was $3100.00 out the door, but they told us they could get under 3k for one and do better if we bought two of them.
We had my mom drive down to look at them and damn near had her sold on two of them. Finally, she gave the OK for one and took off. We must have been there all day and in the end, my dad passed, as they were all torqueflites.
All I can say is DAMN. My dad still doesn't talk about that to this day.
