From some detective work I did back in the day, I recall Edelbrock had a plastic pattern of a 1x4 which was very similar to the 2x4 intake, it had been dyno tested and was a known good piece, but unfortunately they wanted Mopar to purchase the tooling for it, the answer was no and that one project was scrapped.
