Scat H beams with either 1.094 or .990 pin are readily available for $450 a set from KMJ Performance (Ebay). Given the Source H beams are now $499, maybe that could be a consideration.
Thats funny you say that,Zippy. I recently purchased and received a 440 source kit a few months ago, and it came from 440 source with Scat h beam rods with the kit. The 7.1” chevy rod in a scat box and all. Maybe they were short on stock of their rods, but i actually thought they were just using scat rods now. I dont know.
