On the underside of the car you can remove the nut that holds the two pieces of the bumper bracket together and remove the bumper. Then I drilled the hole larger in the rear of the bracket piece still on the car. That lets the two pieces of the bracket slide in all the way. I will have to go back and tap the rod shown in the pic to remount the bumper.
