CSR.... covers my “needs” for 9sec passes per the rules. Provides both trans and flex plate protection..... per the rules. Small block/727 combo I said f’it and cut the trans tunnel out. Even guys I talked to with 904 said it was TIGHT. I’m currently changing to 904 and have had a shield on order since July 2nd. Luckily I’ve had little ambition to get the car runnng, but f I did, I’d a thrown my old Lofgren blanket on it and called it good.

...my personal thought with a 727 is DONT GO to the track with a stock drum. I also feel a properly installed blanket is worlds above the CSR shield. It’s ability to absorb the shock/explosion makes much more sense.... hangup on the blanket is that I’d still need the required “flex plate/flywheel” sheild, so CSR it is.
