Well my oil change and lash check showed me why the engine has been ticking a little louder than usual
I pulled the drain plug and there was a large wad of sticky gray matter attached to the magnet. Lash was wider than normal on 4 of the valves all the rest were on the money. I actually had to remove some of that crap from the drain plug hole so the oil would come out. I think it's time to step up to a roller so this doesn't happen again, that flat cam has been in there for about 6 years with zero issues.

After doing some calculations it will cost me about $1500 to do the conversion to roller. So I will be going the flat tappet route again but with an EDM lifter deal for about half that money and the same performance gains.
