It one thing to have all of the safety equipment (which I totally agree to keep us all safe). But, unless the car gets wrecked we shouldn't have to buy new helmet, gloves, jackets, pants, seat belts, window nets, parachutes, bellhousings etc every couple of years just because.... Hell, I am scheduled to go back to get the chassis re-certified again in May on my car. My belts & window net is due as well. Uggh.
The whole Grudge Racing (No E.T.) is where it is at these days. No rules no regulations & way more fun. Show up & race doesn't matter what you have. I know someone with a very fast No E.T. Mustang. The track finally told him he needed to install a racing harness & a roll cage. He added the harness & the cage as well (but the cage is all just PVC plastic tubing painted black with some padding over the door bars to hide the chipping paint from getting in & out of it). LOL.
