What sort of intake and insulation did the 440 without the problem have compared to this 383 that does?

I had a 383 with a Holley street dominater. Had everything from Oem avs, to the eddy 750 you have, to a 3310 on it. I had trouble with no fuel after a week sitting. No problems overnight, but I played around with gaskets and spacers, trying to stop boiling enough to prevent the need of gas down the throat after a week. Stock flat hood so I couldn’t just throw a huge spacer on and be done.

With a gasket or two, it started great, but you could tell the carb was hot as it took a split second to light off. The biggest spacer I found that still fit was about 3/8 of an inch of old school cardboard paper type stuff. Started as good or better than efi. Still didn’t cure the dry bowls after a week. Didn’t matter enough to me to put on an electric pump before I sold the car.

I want my fair share
