3.09 first.
My '84 D100 came with 3.21 and a 195-75x15.
It now has a 3.91SG with a 235-75x15 tire, overall ratio is about the same.

Not exactly, A833OD and six cylinder A833's had a 3.09 first gear, the rest nope.

I need to improve my reading comprehension.
I read the question as 1st gear ratio for a 833od.

The 2.44/2.47/2.66 ratio on 833's will be fine with a 2.94 gear.
A .25 difference in 1st gear ratio or a .10 change in rear gear ratio shouldn't create excessive clutch wear. The Munchie M-22 "rock crusher" GM used only had a 2.20 1st.

A body 833 V8 up to '66 also had a 3.09 1st.
