Several years ago a guy gave me a set of 15 year old Michelin tires to put on a beater I had just gotten running. They looked great, no cracks, pretty soft tread, they took no weights to balance them. I used them for about 4 years running around town and doing short trips. I finally bought a set of new tires and pulled off the Michelin tires. Once off the car you could see many small cracks deep down inside the tread. Guess I got all the use out of that set of tires.
