It's possible to assemble the coupler body to the steering shaft 180 degrees off; the notch on the body & the small drive pin line up with a reference hole in the steering shaft when correctly assembled. This keeps the steering wheel oriented properly.
Nothing worse than getting that stamped metal retainer perfectly crimped in place and the column installed in the car only to discover you did it wrong! (You'll only make that mistake once).

better to find out now though, then when it is in the car, wondering why things aren't lining up.

speaking of crimping those little tabs, what is the best way to do that? i'm just using some smallish wood clamps, and pulling the cover down on the seal at tightly as i can, and using a broad blade screwdriver to crimp them down.

is there a better way?
