I have the new harland sharp rockers for victor head and will be measuring for pushrod length tomorrow. My question is do i need to torque head to spec or can i just snug it to 30ftlb with the marine gaskets. I still need to check piston to valve once i get the new p rods.
Snugs ok. A used gasket is better. After I get it where I want it with my adjustable pushrod ( using checking springs), I just send my checker in with my pushrod order and have them ( whom ever you use)send it back with the new pushrods. "I need 8 (or 16) this length".
