Yes. Will not be a problem on a relatively new cam. Would use Zinc break in additive and an oil with zinc in it as well as the lubing you refer to. I have done lifter replacement successfully on a number of motors however they were mostly stock.

Try to find old stock lifters. Johnson/Sealed Power, TRW, McQuay Norris and the like. Most over the counter new stuff is manufactured offshore and typically sucks. At least that has been my experience.

A quiet valve train requires excellent lifters and I have found that, as simple a design as a lifter generally is, quality and reliability of current offerings is suspect at best.

Break them in same as you would a normal engine break in. Approx 2k RPM for 20 minutes.
