i have found if you use just a tiny bit of anti-seize, galled threads are prevented. just a guess here, but i think the galling comes from the difference in the plating [or lack there of] differences between the studs and nuts. and to be clear, i torque my nuts to 85-100lbft. depending on the wheels being used and the nut type [cone or shank seat], and have no issues with them coming loose.

Yep, if the plated ones are not lubricated the pIating tears off and basically welds the nut to the stud.

Try running a die over the studs before install, sometimes threads need a clean up new.

i forgot to include that. thanks for the input ! i use a "chaser" die instead of a "cut" die as the "chaser" doesn't remove any material, but knocks off any excess plating boogers or shards, and slightly rolls the threads. i use a "chaser" on the nuts also, then a slight amount of anti-seize.
