I decided to replace the NAPA pump with the FlowKooler #1700. I also replaced the standard thermostat with a Moroso High Flow 180 degree unit (HF unit was recommended per FK), and I also replaced that spongy lower radiator hose with a Gates piece. The hot weather is returning this week so I will start testing out this new water pump.
