Thanks Mike. I have noticed that about some nos latches out there. The backs are galvanized. To date all the latches I have received from clients cars have the brown finish on the back plate. I will be going with the assembly line finishes. I would not be able to get the back plates galvanized in the checker pattern anyway because they were stamped from already galvanized sheets of steel.
