In the past I ran a 6 pack hood scoop that was not sealed with a 11' x 6' Tall K&N Filter. The filter was about 1/4" from the scoop. I installed a Pro Stock hood scoop. I am running the same filter but now there is an 1" to 1 1/2" above the air cleaner to the scoop. The bottom of the scoop is 5 inches off the hood in an attempt to get into the clean air as per an article that I saw written by Rick Jones. I am curious because every one talks about how there cars picked up when they sealed the scoop. Mine ran identical. Thinking it need to be jetted up. Also the car is horribly inconsistent so I am thinking it is lean.



If you were peaked out before MOST will need to jet up
a couple of sizes.. I did when I sealed up... on the last
scoop(the one in my sig) I was close enough that it really
didnt change(that was going from a sealed scoop to another
sealed scoop) but the vertical clearance and the ideal entry
that is mounted on the scoop ended up with 1 jet fatter
