So when I walk around the pits and check out other peoples cars, one thing that impress' me the most is a clean engine bay, well put together and thought out. No after thoughts, or sloppy hoses.
In the center of this is a nice shiny orange hunk of steel...

What have you guys found to be the best way to do this for appearance and durability.

Is it a primer, or particular paint. With a fresh block from a machine shop, do you wipe it down with thinner or acetone???

I know the veterans will have the answer

Thanks
