SR heads ported to MW size are short about 40 hp from a good set of 440-1 heads. If you want to go reasonably fast on a budget, my guess is 440-1 heads fully ported with 2.25 intakes and stock rockers and an easy to live with cam that won't beat them to death would be my idea of what to do. You run super classes, so ultimate power is less important to you than being able to make a lot of passes between maintainance, right?
That's was the point. That's a lot of money spent for 40HP increase. If I was buying new castings, new rocker gear, new manifold, etc, I would want more gain than that. But that's just me
