That's not what happened. Basically, my mistake. Learned how to weld heavy steel using the Dana as my guinea pig. First ladder bar bracket setup broke loose. Luckily, still had the leaf springs in. Rewelded at least one more time, maybe twice. After all that heating, tubes finally took a setting slightly bowed. Haven't moved since, Axles still slide in and out dead square. Just don't think I should be hacking up these tubes anymore. I priced retubing through Currie. Almost as expensive as a new S60 housing. I bought this 52" Dana complete from Direct Connection drum to drum with 5.13 gears for $850. It's now cut down to 46 1/2".
