I just had a 13,000 66 Hemi Coronet in the shop for an engine compartment do over and a detail of the OE paint. As has been said after many years of use and waxing the paint gets real thin. Great time and patience is needed but it can be saved to the extent that is possible. This is a labor intensive deal so can be a bit pricey. You screw up there is no turning back.
