I have my car apart for the winter getting all the new fun parts installed. I have an old D1 Procharger sitting around here, and have decided to add some boost to the car. I plan to fabricate my own brackets so it will be a passenger side install.

My question is, am I wasting money doing a girdle on the bottom end? the engine is right at 500HP now, and I plan to run about 5-8 lbs of boost, nothing serious. I will be inter-cooled.

Stock 67 block, studded top and bottom, stock caps, ARP-2000 fasteners, K-1 rods. light SRP Pistons, stock stroke. The car runs great!

I have the pan off right now, but I am worried about pulling the current studs to accommodate the ones for the girdle.
