Currently running a set of the victor heads, they are from Hughes, CNC ported from circa 2009 maybe 2008; I know they do not flow anything like the numbers mentioned. The combo is very basic and the performance has been good; Looking at the heads I realized they were not a B1 or a full flowed Indy but they had some other characteristics that fit my build at the time; That is a Standard 440 intake port ( re use M1 tunnel ram) and they would work with my existing out of the box Hooker 5209 headers. I have made probably close to 500+ runs with these heads and had zero issues.

My best et is 9.65@138 and my last run at Summit Raceway park this past October 11th was 9.71@138; The mill is a 499ci in a 3585# 68 B body; Doing the math I would say it makes pretty good power but nothing remarkable. probably a solid 750HP;

The combo is really simple;
- 499 ci ( 4.15 x 4.375)
- JE flattop
- 13.1 : 1 CR
- M1 Tunnel Ram / 2 4150 Holley (vp 110 fuel)
- Crane 280/670 Roller ( this cam is literally 25 years old)
- HS 1.6 Rocker Arms
- K-Motion 950 springs
- 727 with either 8" ATI or 9" Dynamic
- 4;30 gear
- 13 x 31 tire

As you can see plenty of room for improvements; I read a lot about the hassle folks had with these heads and can say I did not experience that; My biggest amount of work was clearance for the push rods; That took an extra few hours to get right, nothing painful just some extra time; The HS rockers worked out of the box and the k-950 springs have been in the engine since 2009 and show decent pressure when last checked. I have busted a few dampers but simply removed them and kept racing.

My new bullet is in the garage and hopefully in the car next spring; It is a Best machine aluminum 540 with Indy 325 CNC heads; My assumptions suggest a good jump in performance but who knows until it makes a pass.
