IMHO, I think that anything larger than a 15" wheel looks bad on an old muscle car.

Would this setup be an exception?

IMO 15's are kinda small. They look okay, and definitely give that classic look, but I think a bigger car looks better with bigger rims. NOT 24's, or any of that kinda stuff You know what I mean. 17"-18" max, and your good

245/50-16 fronts and 275/40-17's rear (9.5" wide)

I personally don't like the short sidewall look. It gives it a more modern car look and makes the car look as though it is lowered. It takes the "classic" look away from the car.

That is why I said 15s with a larger tire, more rubber to fill the well rather than more wheel to get there.

If I want a lowered short rubber, big wheel look I will buy a new car.

This is just my opinion, that is what makes the world go round. If we all liked the same thing then it would be a boring world.
