Ran a new best at Darlington last night. Finally got my 8 sec pass! Went out there to do a little testing for an upcoming street car shootout. I had taken the 275 pro radials off a couple weeks ago and put a new set of 295-65 radials back on it...same size I used to run. Never liked the looks of the 275s on my car, never ran any better on them than it did w/ the 295s, and I couldn't run the 1/4 on the shorter tires.

Track was hooking great for everyone but me to begin with. First pass it just lit the tires up, so I came back and made some adjustments on the shocks and left the new 295-65 M/T drag radials at 18.5 psi.

The next pass it pulled the front wheels about 1 foot up in the air and then the nitrous came in...gained another foot or so of air under the front tires and carried it for about 100'. Got a little squirrelly when it came down, but I stayed in it b/c I knew it was on a good run.

60'...1.311
1/8...5.710 at 121.57 mph
1/4...8.955 at 149.70 mph

Not sure what tripped the 60' beam, but it wasn't the front tires.
That was just my 2nd pass, but it was late and I was happy grin, so we loaded up and came home.
I have just now gotten a handle on the traction and haven't even started tuning on the nitrous yet. I think there's some 8.80s in it easily. Want to thank Stephen Daurity and Monte Smith for the advice. up
Not bad for a 3900# street driven car. drive
