Could you take a picture of your bent tip fan and post it?

Are the tips at the outer edges, or running radially from inner to outer?

The steel flex fans have the radial running edges to "feather" the blades at higher rpm.

Back in the 1980s i had propellers for a Navaho airplane with the custom bent tips at the ends.
It sure drew strange looks at airport fueling stations.

I believe your bent tips need to point toward the radiator.

The bent tips are there to block high pressure air underneath the fan blades rushing up to the lower pressure air region above the fan blades.
This bladetip air movement creates little tornadoes at the tips that are parasitic power wasters and noise producers.

The vertical "winglets" at the end of commercial airliners are the same idea.
