Before I got into the habit of clicking the motor off at the top end, I would have an oil pressure drop when on the brakes. The accumulator saved motors more than once when not having 4 drain back lines on my first B1 motor, breaking an oil shaft in the lights, and those are the ones that come to mind. I lost a motor when an unmentioned chassis builder shut mine off and didn't think it was important to tell me about it, too.
I am going to a dry sump on the next Predator so, it will be the first time not using one for 20 years. JMO, they don't negatively affect anything but a little more weight.
