I also used a B&M Quick Click in my old race car and because of the cable routing I had issues with header heat and cable destruction. I now have a Cheetah for the new racer and the cable comes out the back of the shifter and comes at the trans from the rear...no more issue!!
What model cheetah shifter for a Mopar comes with rear exit? Turbo action shows them leaving the front of the shifter, bending around in a circle and approaching the trans from the rear. They show the Chevy and Ford shifters as having rear exit. Perhaps you have a Glide in your race car?
