I did Auto glass in the late 70's for a living...
When a Door glass broke ( tempered glass) it broke into a million pieces and I had times where a piece of that glass got into the latching mechanism ( the door jamb mechanism, NOT the handle part) and made it inoperable..
Understand here, I had to get the door open to install the new door glass..
By inoperable I mean everything worked fine, door button pushed in, all of the linkages moved, but the latch would not release...
Try looking around the latch/jamb mechanism inside the door for something causing this.. Use a screwdriver or cotter key remover ( Hook tool) and poke around to clean anything stuck or jambed into the latch...
It will be frustrating, don't give up.....
